Feed dwarf shrimp

Feed dwarf shrimp

How often do dwarf shrimp need to be fed?

Dwarf shrimp do not feed exclusively on “normal” food. Therefore, daily feeding is not recommended. Instead, it is sufficient if feeding takes place once to three times a week. How often feeding is really necessary, however, also depends strongly on the number of animals and on the aquarium itself.

Do I need to feed my dwarf shrimp at all?

Feeding dwarf shrimp is not absolutely necessary if the aquarium has been in operation for a long time. Because then the shrimp normally find enough to eat. Even in a community tank feeding is not absolutely necessary, because the dwarf shrimp also go to the fish food. However, if there are a lot of dwarf shrimp in the aquarium or it is relatively new, additional feeding should be done. Also, additional food often helps these animals to reproduce more.
